Thailand, a tropical Southeast Asian country, has to offer as much of natural magnificence as in history and culture. The Topography: Thailand features a diverse topography filled with varied landscapes: from tropical rainforests to mountainous regions, and sandy shorelines to majestic rivers and mangroves dotting all around the country. The northern part of the country consists of mountain regions and Thai highlands. The highest point is ‘Doi Inthanon’ located in Thanon Thong Chai Range with an elevation about 8,415 ft. The northeast part is dominated by the Khorat Plateau adjoined to the Mekong River in the east. The flat Chao Phraya river valley rules the center of Thailand along with many water-bodies and coastal cities.
Thailand’s most precious natural resource is of course the Andaman Sea that boasts some of the most enticing beach resorts of Asia including the beautiful ‘Phucket’, lush green ‘Krabi’, exotic Pattaya and fun-filled Phang Nga. These sea-side towns are amazingly beautiful, and give tourists with unending funs and delights.
Climate: Perfect location in between tropic of Cancer the Equator, Thailand boasts weather and vegetation of a tropical country. In simple words, it’s hot and humid. From mid-March to October, Thailand features heavy rainfall; monsoons rolling off the Indian Ocean during this time swamp the whole country. Then, it starts the cool season from November and lasts till end of the February. This is really the most pleasant time in Thailand, and the ‘high season’ for travelers and tourists indeed. From March to mid-May is the hot season that witnesses the temperature above 30 degree Celsius most of the time.
Wildlife: Thailand has a rich diversity of wildlife. The country is home to thousands of different species of birds and animals, some of them are quite rare to see. Visit to its zoos, animal reserves and bird sanctuaries and you will definitely get to explore some amazing varieties of animals and birds. In Thailand, you’re more likely to encounter elephants being marched all around. The Northern forests are home to lions, tigers and many endangered wild animals. Bird watching in Thailand is quite popular. A large number of travelers visit this country to explore its odd and interesting bird species. From azure-winged pitta to oriental hornbills and glossy pheasants to sea-eagles, you can see some wonderful birds in Thailand. Besides this, one can see a variety of snakes, vipers and panthers while trailing in forests ot trekking to mountains in Thailand.
