you said it all…it is chinese dance…and so popular….and you know these dancers can hear nothing……….they really rock…
Most probably a Thai rip-off! (As usual, as i lived in Thailand 10 years).This dance is Chinese and so are the dancers.But Guan Yin is Oriental and the Thai,s also believe in him/her and also reveer the Lady Boy of which this God/Godess is.
