Do they have modern freeways? I CAN NOT SAY MODERN FREEWAY LIKE IN THE USA YET BUT SURE YOU CAN DRIVE AND SEE EVERYTHING FROM NORTH TO SOUTH WITH A RENTAL CAR OR BY BUS. YES, THE HOTEL ARE COMPARABLE TO THE USA. SAFE OR NOT SAFE DEPEND ON HOW YOU BEHAVE YOUR SELF. AS LONG AS YOU OBEY THE LAW AND DO NOT MAKE ANY ONE ANGRY WITH YOU, YOU SHOULD BE OK IN ANY COUNTRY ON EARTH. CRIME, YES, EVERY WHERE HAVE CRIME… JUST BE SMART AND YOU SHOULD BE OK ALSO.

  4. suabhmongradio says:

I THINK LAOS IS BECOMING MODERNIZE COUNTRY WITH THE MONEY OTHER COUNTRIES SUCH AS USA, AUSTRALIA, JAPAN, ENGLAND, AND ETC… POURED INTO HELPING TO SHAPE THE COUNTRY. Is it still poor? YES AND NO DEPEND ON HOW YOU PUT IT IN PERSPECTIVE. IN GENERAL YES IT IS POOR BUT IN AWAY IT IS NOT POOR. SOME HMONG LIVE IN LAOS ARE MILLIONAIRE ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT LIVE IN THE NORTHERN PART OF LAOS.

@suabhmongradio: I really enjoy your video and yes, I have some questions. What do you think about Laos? Is it still poor? Do they have modern freeways? I would like to drive on the roads and see everything. Do they have showers and air conditioning in the hotels? I know it’s very hot in Vientiane. Also, I would love to rent an apartment in Laos. I plan to stay there for 6 months. Is it safe and no crimes?

  6. suabhmongradio says:

If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them the best I can.

  7. OS253 says:

@suabhmongradio: Why does it take you 6 months to respond to my comments?

  8. suabhmongradio says:

… Yes, you need Lao-Visa to get inside Laos. You could get Lao-Visa at the border. It takes about 10 mins depend on the crowd.

  9. suabhmongradio says:

…This trip, I stay two days in Laos.

  10. suabhmongradio says:

… LAW exists every where. Laos has similiar LAW as in the USA.

  11. shuakuya says:

yes if you want to drink and drive and smoke pot or even opium go right a head man! That is the highway to hell

  12. nasvwj says:

Can i drunk and drive legally in Laos, and does pot legal in Laos?

  13. suabhmongradio says:

I do not speak Lao that good but I speak Thai fluently.

  14. Gotfish says:

wow. thanks richard for showing this video. I was wondering, do u speak Lao or did u have Laotian translator?

  15. suabhmongradio says:

Yes you could just fly directly from bkk to vt if you wanted to. My tip is to save about 200.00 dollars that you could spent for other things while in Laos.

  16. OS253 says:

Hey, thanks for showing this video. I’m the biggest fan of Laos. It’s my dream to visit Laos and see everything. It looks like you had a great time in Laos, right?

  17. Yuamkevtiamno says:

I can’t believe why didn’t you just fly direct from bangkok to vientiane instead of Udonthani. This would save you a lot of time.

  18. suabhmongradio says:

Yes you will need Lao visa to get into Laos. Just apply at the Lao immigration office at the gate after you accrossed the Friendship bridge. It takes about 10 minutes and around 35 us dollar. That is it!

  19. alansoundara says:

hey Richard, do i need visa to cross border from thailand. can you give some information cause i hate geting visa at the viengtiane airport.
