From now to Mid-March, the weather on the Andaman side of Thailand is nice. So, I’d suggest you to go to Krabi and visits the surrounding islands like Phi Phi, Koh Hong, the 5 Islands, Riley Beach, etc. Honestly, I never like Samui. I think the beach is not as nice as Krabi.

I like Krabi more…particulary the Sheraton. Going again next month!

Koh Samui is trying its best to be another Pattaya or Patong Beach with bars and drunks and sex. Go to Krabi.

    samui for sure

Krabi is my suggestion. Less youristy and less commercialised. Cheaper than Samui for sure. Plus you have more options to travel around, than in Samui.

I have visited both and much prefer Krabi and the surrounding areas. If you want night life and shopping try Ao Nang, Pang Nga or Rallee Beach (lots of rock climbing and yummy rock climbers!) I try to avoid those places these days as they are way too touristy for me.

If like me, you prefer the quieter less expensive places try Phanom Bencha, which is in the National Park and has beautiful gardens. Koh Jum which is quiet too and has some nice beaches. For a really, really, quiet place try Koh Siboya Bungalows. No bars, discos or even paved roads and great relaxed atmosphere!

If you want to have something in between, there is always Klong Muan (Pine Bungalows) You can visit all the local scenic islands and it’s only a 15 minute motorbike ride from Ao Nang, if you really need some touristy night life.

KRABI!!!!!!! Lovely place…. good food, nice crowd and lots of other island to explore… Got a Thai Restaurant called Sala-Thai, but not too sure if its still operating…
Hotel… Ao Nang Villa is nice.. and location is right at the corner of Ao nang Beach…

Go to Koh Samui… leave my beautiful Krabi alone. Actually, Koh Lanta Yai (the larger one) was my favorite island by far… check out some Flickr snaps of Koh Lanta…
